XL 3D Assembly Square
XL 3D Assembly Square
Couldn't load pickup availability
The largest square in the range is ideal for assembling wardrobes and extra deep cabinets. Unique side slots allow you to clamp shelves squared in 3D dimensions even if the shelf fronts are deeply inset (for example to avoid hinge arms in wardrobes).
Much more than just a cabinet assembly jig, this is a universal work holding device that will become a valuable part of your setup:
- Holding heavy gauge materials securely in alignment
- Holding small section frame parts in complex 3D squared alignments for easy screw-fixing.
- Use it upside down on the bench to secure tall mitred skirtings to perfect 90 degrees while pre-joining.
- Use it sideways clamped to the bench to hold heavy assemblies in a secure upright position.
This newly re-launched XL version of our 3D Assembly Square is available in grey Valchromat®, a dense, high-performance, moisture resistant, coloured-throughout board.
IMPORTANT: After initial push-fit assembly, all screw holes must be piloted to the full depth of the screw using a 2.5mm or 3mm diameter drill bit (not included) except the 5 deeper countersunk screw positions on the top (see image). Screws are provided: 16qty 3.5x30mm (gold coloured) and 5qty 3.5 x 20mm (silver coloured, for the top fixings circled)
Why it works
- Holds parts perfectly square in 3 dimensions for precise screw-fastening.
- Eliminates marking out, dominos, Lamello, or complicated joint prep.
- Saves time and increases accuracy whether you’re a DIYer or trade professional.
- Unique corner design gives clear visibility for lining up edges and marking reference lines.
- Works perfectly with rail-saw rail clamp styles from most manufacturers including Festool and Makita. Also works with mid-sized Irwin clamps.
Latest Upgrades
- Extra clamping slots for upside-down benchtop use.
- Re-shaped mid braces for easier assembly.
- Clean, flat side surfaces (no recessed logo).
Perfect for DIY & Trade
DIY: Makes tough jobs simple with minimal tools.
Trade: Boosts efficiency and profit both in the workshop and on-site.
Workshop-Tested
At Freebird Interiors, we've used the 3D squaring concept for many years before refining and improving it for CNC production and sale to you.
We still regularly use this jig in our 2600 sq ft Sheffield workshop, alongside CNC, Lamello, Festool and Mafell tool systems - because sometimes, this simple tool is still the most efficient solution.
Note: Some of the images show a dark grey Compacmel version of the square. This material has now been discontinued for the XL square due to excessive weight making regular usage more cumbersome, and a more slippery face surface making precise alignments slightly trickier. After extensive user feedback we now recommend the Valchromat as the ideal material (as seen in the first image and the other images with the brown background). However the product performs just as well in the (similarly dense) MR MDF option also.
